Grey Island Systems International Inc. is a pioneer in providing advanced, real-time Internet-based GPS/AVL and Telematics information systems. Its flagship solutions are marketed under the InterFleet® and NextBus® brands.

An industry original, InterFleet® was launched commercially in 1998 with an EMS (Emergency Medical Services) client tracking ambulances every 100 meters of vehicle travel. This translated into the industry leading vehicle average update rate of 6 to 10 reports per minute. InterFleet's data optimization provides this level of clarity (and better) for similar or less cost than GPS/AVL systems reporting vehicle updates at typically 1 minute or greater intervals. In addition, InterFleet’s patented live screen map displays the entire fleet and automatically refreshes updated status changes every second.

Flexible and adaptable, InterFleet is a readily customizable end-to-end offering. Our clients benefit from an ability to modify any or all of the core system components at any time. This includes the InterFleet® on-board GPS/AVL hardware (and firmware), middleware and end-user software. InterFleet has been tailored to provide a broad variety of machine-to-machine interfaces and legacy software integrations. Client-driven application development has focused on the practical concerns faced in managing fleets operations.

Our NextBus® solution is also an original that defines the real-time transit passenger information product category. Most features and functions required by transit authorities are built-in making NextBus a proven and dependable off-the-shelf system.

In addition to providing transit authorities information to manage daily transit operations, the NextBus® solution provides transit riders with the accurate arrival time of their bus, as determined by using the real-time position of the vehicle instead of just schedule information. Estimated arrival times are made available over the Internet, via wireless devices such as PDA's and cell phones, through IVR (interactive voice response) and at electronic signs at specific bus stops.
